Sept. 29, 1927: Some fifteen years ago the City of Hayward had a well drilled near the Court House with the intent to use same for the City’s water supply, but for some reason or other it was never used. Last week the Council directed an experiment under the direction of Mr. Rogers of Milwaukee to see if the well had a water flow sufficient to supply the city’s needs. A two day test was had and it was found that the well had more water than required for the entire need of the city. The well is 191 feet deep, has 170 feet of 12 inch casing and 21 feet of 8 inch casing, 168 feet of water.
